Ways these Broncos and the 'play-dough' quarterback can end that Kansas City Chiefs' dominance.

Week six of the 2025 NFL season
Real-time updates features live text for Sunday's games on multiple platforms, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage is available on select stations for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).
We're in the sixth week of the NFL season , after last week's talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each lost their perfect starts.
Notable during those contests was the number of infractions each committed. Philadelphia did so at crucial times so they kind of beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against Denver, set to play overseas this weekend.
However it was good to observe that Denver quarterback Bo Nix managed to overcome the shortfall and then lead three scoring drives in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game 21-17.
Denver boast the defensive player of the year in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that battle.
They had effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they could plug two linebackers in the interior before drop them out and send a nickel off the edge.
Early on of the season, we said on a program that Denver might emerge as the current year's surprise contenders. They finished last season well then excelled in continuing that momentum.
Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?
Recently acquired TE their tight end has stepped up big while recent RB JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).
It's impressive that head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
That shows how Denver are a team that wants to prioritize the run, since you can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes while maintains in favourable down and distances.
It's also benefited QB Bo Nix, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to a star QB in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert possess the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they lack the mobility that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, and he's so athletic.
His assets include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, and using varied release points to deliver throws as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver that layered pass across the middle and past defenders.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and is not bothered by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack whenever possible and can throw under pressure. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
When you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and when you've got a mobile QB the defense has to defend the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.
The quarterback has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and I think the coach likes that fire, that he's such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to coach a rookie QB that is kind of like moldable clay. He can really build something up how he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.
The head coach owns a championship and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are having offensively is largely due to his leadership, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix aids shape him what he is.
There's no better a better guy in your ear, to help you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet are they strong enough to face an elite team at full strength? Since that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.
Right now, it's unlikely Denver are incredible. They're performing above average, that's a good place to hold their division. All they need is is maintain this path.
They excel at embracing their forte, that is running the ball, and that's exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they're the only team yet to win a game.
Since the league started recording turnovers in 1933, the Jets are the inaugural squad to go without a single takeaway in five outings, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.
Patrick Mahomes says the Chiefs are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.
Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a manageable slate up to their break (in week 12) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.
In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could make a run at leading the West.
It depends on what version Kansas City shows up they meet because Denver {beat|def
