Large-scale Russian Strikes Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's power facilities have come under escalating attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in multiple districts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and faced problems to water systems, according to municipal leaders.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the country's south-east, as reported by local officials.

Russian forces has increased assaults on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, the EU and the G7 - in delivering defensive weapons and applying sanctions," mentioned in a online statement.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty rockets attacked energy facilities, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and maintenance teams were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Multiple people wounded in the assaults on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area experienced significant strikes throughout the evening. A minor died and multiple civilians were injured.

The attacks succeed periods of aerial attacks in the area, portions of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is under warning for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to detect.

Government officials told the media that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting energy systems.

Authorities confirmed utility staff and government agencies were preparing for further attacks.
