Jurgen Klopp admits rejoining to manage Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who stepped down from Liverpool in 2024, indicated that a future comeback is something that could happen. Klopp, following a hugely successful nine-season tenure which brought Champions League success and the Premier League crown for three decades, has since taken on positions as head of global soccer with the Red Bull group and as an advisor to Germany's league body.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won the league title in the previous campaign, but many fans holding him in high esteem would welcome the possibility that he may eventually return. Speaking candidly, he explained to the podcast host: “I declared I won't manage a different club in England. Therefore in case it's my former club...yeah. It's plausible.”

“I’m 58, so the choice could be mine later on, I don’t know. Do I have to make the decision today? Then I will not coach again. But thank God, no such pressure exists. I can just see what the future brings.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding what circumstances must arise to bring him back to management, he confessed he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. “It's unclear to me, I love what I do right now,” he stated. “I don’t miss coaching; I avoid standing during downpours through long matches; I don’t miss going to press conferences four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the team having a nice chat, I appreciate that. With many victories thus frequently positive atmosphere in the building. I still have Van Dijk's laughter ringing in my ears to illustrate.”

Commending Arne Slot

Klopp was full of praise for his successor, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship last term. They've been defeated four in a row across various tournaments post heavy investment, though he denied the idea it could be a slump.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. An outstanding player. The French striker, superb talent. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret about Liverpool, they'll bounce back.”

Heartfelt Words for Diogo Jota

Klopp also spoke emotionally regarding the passing of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition in 2020, and its impact for the team. Jota was killed in a vehicle collision alongside his brother this past summer.

“How do you replace somebody like Diogo? It goes beyond the player himself, his personality mattered. I can’t imagine the dressing room without him in it. I find it difficult to discuss regarding this. A profound tragedy for all the boys also. Not a single person would cite it as an excuse yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room which he filled completely. Handling this emotionally is challenging. Unbearable.”
